Nasty drinks of bygone days, eh? Well, this was my dad's favourite jollop for a chesty cough - and if you were prepared to swallow it, diluted by LOTS of hot water, it proved you were ill enough for a day off school
we had something similar as kids, my dad brought this digestive bitter home from a business trip to Germany, if you managed to keep it down you felt much better after you slept off the 87% proof!
And after my time here I still tend to think that the sauerkraut that gets slapped on the sausages is a fiendish cure for something I haven't caught yet - and never will!
Handy hints very welcome, Mrs B, thank you! (Gaga I would actually have got, but you are a trove of information about boy bands not previously on my radar...)
was all set to dumbfound marigold again with a pic of Australian 90's band 'Savage Garden' but left it too late and Star jumped in. never mind I will have to follow with
Yes! Joyful, even without the poster... also loved her party pieces at the National the other week
Night, night now - must get some beauty sleep before rewatch night (plus I have a Man coming about the phone line tomorrow, so better be up and ready in case he's extra early)

I will never forget going to see Faust played over two nights in the pit here. lots of naked bodies and we were sat far too close to the action to feel completely comfortable.
Oh Lor' that Faust - saw it in Stratford before it transferred from the Swan - both parts on the same day - we were all baffled by part one and very sloshed for the second half, having decided that sobriety was getting us nowhere fast. Goethe's translation of Marlowe must have been very dodgy- that, or he was drunker writing it than we were watching it.
Nostalgia now - still haven't been to the new theatre there...
