Thanks, nice read! I'm still in denial that it's over for good and sticking with my gut feeling that we'll see Being Human again sometime in the future :)
I have that feeling too Tectonic! anyother, there seemed to be a general feeling of disbelief to head scratching amongst the online media about the end of Being Human. It doesn't even make logical sense! Unfortunately I think it has impacted on BBC Three's launch of a new supernatural drama - I can't even bring myself to watch it. So badly timed and ill-judged.
But! another rhetorical question......... aren't we all just so ****ing lucky to be around in this lifetime to have experienced 5 unbelievably epic series of a one of the kind and unbeatable BEING HUMAN!
I will never ever grow tired of re-watch after re-watch, my thirst for quality television will forever more be satisfied by the disks within that box soon to arrive 8 April and I will love every single drop of it over and over forever! Call me cheesy....... but I honestly think Being Human was one of the biggest blessings of my life and I can never be sad about that, only happy!
Yeah, that replacement was a bad idea, even though I can't judge the new series as I've only seen a few seconds, and for now that was enough for me. A replacement by something quite different would have been better, I guess. And you're right of course, no one can take the Being Human experience away from us. Remember the time when a favourite tv show ended and there were no video's or dvd's to fill the void? I'm so glad we can treat ourselves to a rewatch whenever we like these days. And this show was special!
I read this article when it came out. It was nice to see someone in the media publicly scratch their heads at the stupidity of ending a popular show for no good reason. The writers were onboard, the actors were onboard, the fans were onboard, the only one not onboard was BBC Three....I still don't understand why. I'm kind of surprised another channel did not pick it up.
Other than catching the random re-run on TV, I have never re-watched a show before being human UK. I've re-watched all of the seasons now twice and am on my third or fourth re-watch of seasons 4 & 5. I don't think I'll ever tire of seasons 4 & 5. I'm still catching little things I missed. I still can't believe it's over and we will not have any more Hal, Alex and Tom in our lives.
I've never been so upset over the end of a show before. Never. TV just doesn't play that big a role in my life. I'm much more affected by finishing a really good book or series of books.
Being Human was truly special. It's too bad the only people that couldn't see that was the ones that run BBC Three.

Well, the BBC are good at misjudging what is good and what isn't. I was very pleased with Zen, and it had good viewing rates and reviews, and yet that was stopped after only 3 episodes. Now Being Human had far more time to show them how much it was worth and appreciated (and it did), so the decision to finish this series puzzles me even more. I'm not someone who watches a lot of tv either, and my attachment to Being Human was a surprise to me too.
