 I think it's automatic, based on number of posts each member has made

For example when you sign up, you're a newbie.

Make 5 posts, you are a now a member

Make more than 20 perhaps, you become a veteran member

 

Not sure if admin/mods can change the number of posts for each level, but I know on some forums you can even change what they're called

c  i have just noticed that right over on the left of the screen there is a key with 666 on it.  I cant be the first to notice it so have I just skipped over the debate entirely?

aah not much of a twitterer, tried it but cant access it or fb at work so tend to get left behind. thanks for the vote of confidence in my brain function

Aha, you are correctamundo I believe - I wandered off after asking and posted a few comments here and there , returned here and see I'm now a "member". Gradually getting to grips and finding my way round the various corridors of this new Blog property acquisition. Jolly good stuff chaps, you've done a sterling job.

I'm in stitches that there's a poll on this!! I've never noticed it before so I voted no!!! I'm still not happy about the devil thing with Hatch, I would have much rathered he was 'just' a Demon
