When werewolves die: conner vs. ray?

When Connor is shot by Aiden he is in human form and then turns into a werewolf after he dies.  Why does Ray, who is already in werewolf form when Josh cuts his head off, turn back into a human when he dies? Is this just an oversight by the writers? Or is it about how they die? Like Connor was shot with a silver bullet and Ray took a sword to the neck.

In the last episode of this season, 'ruh roh', Liam also dies in his human form and turns into his werewolf. He was killed by a wooden stake to the stomach.

Hi Emily, glad to meet you

smile

I hope someone with more knowledge of the US series chips in soon with a joined-up answer (my knowledge still rests at a big fat 0%)... BUT a happily misspent childhood and adolescence watching all the Hammer horrors with my dad after the Saturday night football equips me to offer the following - sounds like US writers are playing arbitrary silly-buggers with Hammer Horror conventions - yes, how dare they? - there, every dispatched werewolf turns back to human - even if I'm only thinking of the marvellous Olly Reed - what's the point of hiring a star and commiting to a final pathos-filled closeup of a dodgy furry suit (well, it was the 50s).

But it works conceptually for me - the default state of the character is human, werewolfhood the accident of experience, a glitch (or morphic option) which passes with mortality.

Help me out someone!

Hi Emily,

Maybe bonkers  because I haven't had a chance to see the US version of the show so I'm just guessing a bit... you have seen all ours, haven't you? Tully and Nina die off screen, George is George, always, and Allison and Tom carry on regardless... so maybe less of an issue for team BH UK.

Oh crikey, did I really just write BH UK? I need a rewatch, badly! Or just a few moe vowels...

Yeah I didn't realize this was about the uk version. .. which I haven't had an opportunity to watch yet. Guess I should look for a more appropriate forum for my question

no need to run away Emily, Marigold may be a little bonkers but she is harmless really! There are people on here from America and quite a few who have and do watch BH USA so you may get a sensible answer.

I would say that from watching many wolfie deaths from various writers it is normal to return to human state.

Great! Hope you get to see the original BH very soon...

And I hope Mrs B has soothed you about the level of bonkersness to be expected here biggrin

Hi Emily
I have been rewatching the UK version, series 3 which showed 2 dead werewolves. Both died in werewolf state and both reverted to human. you would think that the American writers would go with the originals rules wouldn't you?
